SU(4) Preonic Interpretation of the HERA Positron-Jet Events

چکیده

We show that our recent SU(4) generalized “rishon” composite model for quarks and leptons, augmented either by the hypothesis of breaking of color SU(3) to “glow” SO(3), or by the hypothesis of incomplete color neutralization in very hard processes, leads to an interpretation of the HERA positron-jet events as the production by color gluon exchange, followed by the decay by color gluon emission, of the positron member of a heavy family partner of the positron.

بررسی رویدادهای چند جتی در نابودی الکترون - پوزیترون

Analysis of electron – positron annihilation into hadrons in the range of energies above 60 GeV shows that apart from two jet events, there are evidence for three jet events that according to the QCD theory interpreted as a gluon radiation by a quark. However, the higher order diagrams lead to four jet events. In this paper, we study the fragmentation of quarks and gluons into hadronic jets . ...

Supersymmetry and Charged Current Events at HERA

A light stop, with an R-parity-violating coupling λ131, has been suggested as an explanation of the excess in high-Q neutral current events observed at the HERA collider. We show that in this scheme a corresponding excess in charged current events — such as that reported by the H1 Collaboration — can appear naturally, without calling for the presence of light sleptons or additional R-parity-vio...

Supersymmetric interpretation of high–Q HERA events and other related issues

In the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with R−parity violation, the high–Q2 HERA events can be interpreted as the s−channel production of a single stop of Mt̃1 ≈ 200 GeV, whose dominant decay modes are assumed to be the R−parity violating e+ + d and the R−parity conserving χ+ + b. Assuming only one coupling λ′131 is nonzero of order ∼ 0.04 − 0.12, we find that (i) t...

Leptoquark/Squark Interpretation of HERA Events: Virtual Effects in e+e− Annihilation to Hadrons

In reference to the recently observed high Q, large x events in deep-inelastic positron–proton scattering at HERA, various leptoquark and supersymmetric scenarios are discussed. We study the impact of virtual leptoquark or R-parity breaking squark exchange as well as generic contact interaction on the production of quark–antiquark pairs in ee annihilation, in particular at LEP2. ∗ Supported by ...

Measuring the Photon Fragmentation Function at HERA

The production of final state photons in deep inelastic scattering originates from photon radiation off leptons or quarks involved in the scattering process. Photon radiation off quarks involves a contribution from the quark-to-photon fragmentation function, corresponding to the non-perturbative transition of a hadronic jet into a single, highly energetic photon accompanied by some limited hadr...
